Our Activities (April 2018)
The Japanese Film Festival in Ireland marked its 10th anniversary. Seventeen Japanese films were screened 49 times in eight cities around Ireland. In particular, audiences were enthusiastic about anime films.
Ambassador Miyoshi went this year again to attend the launch of the Education in Ireland Student Ambassador Programme at Farmleigh House. Ms. Sumire Komori (University College Dublin) and Ms. Kimi Sakota (Dublin City University) were selected from Japan.
Experience Japan took place in the Phoenix Park for the ninth time. A sake barrel opening ceremony by Mr Eoghan Murphy TD, Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, who had visited Japan for St. Patrick's Day, the Lord Mayor of Dublin and Ambassador Miyoshi took place and many other events were held. Thanks to the fine weather, there were 25,000 visitors.
Ambassador Miyoshi attended a seminar on Irish-Japanese Economic and Trade Relations in the the T.K. Whitaker room in the Department of Finance and made opening remarks to 30 students from three universities in Dublin.
