1. General Information
Visa applicants must visit our office in person along with their passport, visa application forms and the other documents required according to the purpose of stay (See 2. Visa Procedures below).
Note: Citizens of Russia and NIS are required to submit TWO visa application forms and TWO passport-sized photographs.
Visa applications (excluding “Certificate of Eligibility” applications) must be submitted at least 1 week before departure.
YOU MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT PRIOR TO APPLYING. Please contact the Consular Section by email: consular@ir.mofa.go.jp with your full name, nationality and travel dates.
Visa Fees
Single Entry:€20 Multiple Entry:€40 Transit:€5
Visa fees are also determined according to reciprocal arrangements between Japan and the country of the applicant's nationality. There is no fee for Irish passport holders. Citizens of certain other countries are also exempt from visa fees. For Indian nationals, single and multiple entry visa fees are €6 and the transit visa fee is €1.
