23 June – 27 June – Activities of Ms Ryoko Aoki, Japan Cultural Envoy

Ms Ryoko Aoki, Noh performer, gave lectures and performances about Noh theatre at Trinity College Dublin on 23 June, at The Factory Performance Space in Sligo on 25 June, and at Garter Lane Arts Centre in Waterford on 27 June, while visiting Ireland as a Japan Cultural Envoy.  
26 June – Opening Ceremony of Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Gardens

On 26 June, the opening ceremony of the “Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Gardens” of Waterford City and County Council was held in Tramore. Mr Brendan Howlin, Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, the great-grandson of Lafcadio Hearn, Professor Bon Koizumi of the University of Shimane Junior College, and Ambassador Atsumi celebrated the opening of the garden with many people who attended the event. 
6 June – Information desk at Language Fair

On 6 June, the Embassy of Japan, the Japan Foundation and the Japanese Language Teachers of Ireland (JLTI) held an information desk at the Language Fair which was held at Filmbase in Dublin.
