[16-10] Mr Fumio Kishida, Foreign Minister of Japan to visit Ireland

Foreign Minister Kishida will visit France, Czech Republic, and Ireland in January.

Minister Kishida thinks that coordination between Japan and European countries who share the same basic values is becoming more and more important amid the challenges to the international order which is based on international law, and the heightening of protectionism. Minister Kishida wants to enhance cooperation with Europe to move the international community towards peace and prosperity.

In Ireland, Minister Kishida will meet Mr Charles Flanagan, Foreign Minister of Ireland, and  will attend the opening Ceremony of the 60th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Ireland, celebrating this special year as the first serving Japanese Foreign Minister to visit Ireland in more than 25 years.
