[17-01] Japan Booth at Holiday World Show Dublin 2017

The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), in association with the Embassy of Japan in Ireland, will participate in Ireland's largest tourism exhibition, the Holiday World Show Dublin 2017, at the RDS Simmonscourt Dublin.
 
This is one of the events marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Japan-Ireland diplomatic relation, and also marks the 10th anniversary of the Working Holiday Scheme.
 
To kick off Japan’s participation, a Barrel Opening Ceremony will be held at the Eoghan Corry Travel Summit at 14.35 on Friday 27 January.
 
It will be at 14.35 following the Opening Ceremony at 14.30 and a Taiko drumming performance. It will be attended by:
-Mr Shane Ross, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport
-Mrs Mari Miyoshi, Ambassador of Japan to Ireland
-Miss Ireland Catherine Gannon, Visit Japan Tourism Ambassador
-Mr Cormac Meehan, President, ITAA
-Ms Maureen Ledwith, Director, Holiday World Show
-Mr Hironobu Nara, Executive Director, JNTO London Office
-Mr Daisaku Yukida, Deputy Director General, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) London Office (TBC)
 
During the Holiday World Show, visitors can enjoy Taiko drumming performances by the Experience Japan Taiko Team at the following times:
-Friday 27 January (11am TBC), 3.00pm, 4.00pm and 5.00pm
-Saturday 28 January 12noon, 1.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm
-Sunday 29 January 12noon, 1.00pm, 2.00pm and 3.30pm
 
The Japan booth will be at number G5 at all times while the show is open:
-Friday 27 January 10.00 am – 1.00 pm Trade only
-Friday 27 January 1.00 pm – 6.00 pm Public & Trade
-Saturday 28 January 11.00 am – 5.30 pm Public & Trade
-Sunday 29 January 11.00 am – 5.30 pm Public & Trade
 
Japanese calligraphy demonstrations by Ms Misa Uraya will be held at the Japan booth at the following times:
-Friday 27 January 1pm – 5.00 pm
-Saturday 28 January 11.30 am – 4.00 pm
-Sunday 29 January 11.30 am – 4.00 pm
 
Ambassador Miyoshi said, “I’m very glad that Japan is now on-board the Holiday World Show as a part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Japan-Ireland diplomatic relations” and continued, “I hope many Irish people will visit Japan towards 2019 when 12 cities in Japan will host the Rugby World Cup, and 2020 when Tokyo will host Olympics and Paralympics”.
