Ambassador Miyoshi visited the leading dairy company Dairygold in Mitchelstown, northern County Cork, where she exchanged views with CEO Mr Jim Woulfe and toured the cheese production facility.
13 September – Orientation for International Youth Conference participants
A pre-departure orientation session was held at the Embassy for the 7 Irish participants in an International Youth Conference taking place in Japan.
15 September – Hokkaido University First Step Program participants visit Embassy
19 students participating in the Hokkaido University First Step Program visited the Embassy and listened to presentations by Japanese people playing an active role in Ireland.
28 September – UCD Japan Fair opening seminar
Ambassador Miyoshi spoke at a talk and demonstration on “Communication Robot Sota” held as the opening event of the “UCD Japan Fair” organised by the UCD Japan Group, which will run until 12 October.
29 September – lecture by Mr Hajime Takata, Mizuho Research Institute Chief Economist
Mr Hajime Takata, Chief Economist at the Mizuho Research Institute, gave a lecture on Abenomics as part of the “UCD Japan Fair” programme of events.
29 September – Ambassador Miyoshi visits Olympic House
Ambassador Miyoshi paid a courtesy call on Olympic Council of Ireland President Ms Sarah Keane and Honorary General Secretary Ms Sarah O’Shea at Olympic House in Howth, marking the start of preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
30 September – Ambassador Miyoshi attends National Famine Commemoration
The National Famine Commemoration took place at the Famine Warhouse 1848 in Co. Tipperary and was attended by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar. Ambassador Miyoshi and other representatives of the diplomatic corps laid wreaths at the event.
