1 May - Lecture by Mr. Yukiya Amano (Secretary General, International Atomic Energy Agency)

Mr. Yukiya Amano, Secretary General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), gave a lecture on "Atoms for Peace and Development" at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS).
3 May - Visit to the Embassy by Iveagh Scholars

This year seven secondary school students selected by the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for its Iveagh Scholars Programme visited the Embassy and were briefed by Ambassador Miyoshi and her staff.
4 May - Launch of Newly Redeveloped Garden of Meditation

Ambassador Miyoshi attended the launch of the newly redeveloped Garden of Meditation at the Irish National Stud and Gardens in County Kildare. On 5 May (Boys' Day in Japan), many families enjoyed the new garden and its cherry blossoms.

    

    
12 May - Ambassador Miyoshi Attends National Famine Commemoration

The National Famine Commemoration took place at University College Cork (UCC) in County Cork and was attended by President Michael D. Higgins. Ambassador Miyoshi and other representatives of the diplomatic corps laid wreaths at the event.
16 May - Promotional Stand at the Central Library in Dublin

At the Central Library in Dublin's ILAC Shopping Centre, the Embassy had a promotional stand introducing the Embassy's cultural activities, foreign exchange information and the JET Programme.
