Our Activities (August 2018)
On 6 August, the anniversary of the Hiroshima atomic bombing, a ceremony to commemorate the victims was held in Merrion Square Park in Dublin. Ms. Kotoha Itakura, political attache, attended and made a speech.
Ambassador Miyoshi attended the reception for overseas particpants in Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2018, including Toyotaro Ceili Band from Japan, in Drogheda. The streets of the town were alive with the sound of traditional Irish music.
Mr. Yoshihiro Iguchi, Chef to Ambassador Miyoshi, led a masterclass for Irish professional chefs and taught them how to make dashi, how to cook rice the Japanese way, Japanese methods for preparing fish, basic Japanese sauces and Japanese knife work.
Ambassador Miyoshi attended "An Evening of Ultimate TAIKO" concert and made opening remarks. The performance by Mr. Hiro Hayashida, accompanied by master uilleann piper Mr. Eamonn Galldubh and on bodhran by Mr. Niall Preston, was fantastic!
Ambassador Miyoshi was invited, along with Irish government officials, members of civil society and the diplomatic corps, to Dublin Castle and had the privilege to listen to a speech by the Holy Father.
