Press Release [19-01] - "Fr Jude McKenna awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays"
1. On 21 May, the Government of Japan awarded Fr Jude McKenna, Former President, Judo Association in Zambia in recognition of his contribution to promoting Judo activities in Zambia.

・Service: Contributed to strengthening the relations between Japan and Zambia
・Name: Jude McKenna
・Major titles: Former President of Zambia Judo Association, 6 dan Judo
・Address (Nationality): Dublin (Ireland)
・Summary of Contribution: Outstanding contribution to bilateral relations and promoting friendship between Japan and Zambia through Judo.
2. The Conferment Ceremony will be held on 26th June in the presence of Ambassador Miyoshi.
3. The Government of Japan decorates foreign nationals who have contributed to strengthening the relationship between Japan and foreign countries twice a year, and Fr McKenna is the fourth Irish national to be decorated by the Government of Japan since 2000.
