High-Level Visits between Japan and Ireland (2019)
March
From 14-17 March, Ms. Josepha Madigan TD, Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, visited Japan to attend events related to St. Patrick’s Day in Japan.
June
From 10-12 June, Mr. Michael Creed TD, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, visited Japan with a trade mission and had a bilateral meeting with Mr.Takamori Yoshikawa, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, and Mr.Arakawa, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Health and Labour.
August
Mr. Pat Breen TD, Minister of State for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection, visited Japan and attended TICAD 7 from 28-30 August.
September
Mr. Michael D’Arcy, Minister of State for Financial Services and Insurance, visited Japan and attended FIN/SUM 2019 which was held from 3-6 September, and briefed on Ireland’s latest International Financial Services National Strategy to those from Japan.
October
From 13-19 October, Ms. Heather Humphreys TD, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, visited Japan and had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Hideki Makihara, State Minister for Economy and Industry.
In late October, Mr. Shane Ross, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, visited Japan to attend events related to the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
