The Embassy of Japan is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual for its Security/Consular section. Please see below for details.
1. Terms of Employment
- Fixed working hours are 9:00 am -5:45 pm, (lunch break: 1 hour), with occasional overtime work before/after working hours and weekends
- Salary range: Approximately 2,700 to 3,200 euro per month (which includes the employer PRSI contribution). The actual amount will be decided in view of each case (e.g. qualifications, experience, etc.) in accordance with the Embassy’s regulation.
- Employment will start as soon as all selection and administrative procedures are completed.
2. Responsibilities
- Assist with all tasks assigned to the Embassy’s security and consular section, including the following:
Responding to visitors, telephone calls and emails both in English and Japanese.
Checking news reports related to the safety of Japanese nationals and liaising with various contractors as well as translating related documents into Japanese or English.
Reception and access control.
Assisting clients at the Consular Section (accepting applications and issuing visas, etc.). Processing applications. Supporting surveys on various matters.
- Other duties as instructed by the Embassy, such as assisting with Embassy duties in the event of an emergency or during major events.
3. Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates have to be legally entitled to work in Ireland. The Embassy does not support his/her visa status in Ireland.
- Excellent knowledge and fluency in both English and Japanese languages especially writing and oral communication skills.
- Intermediate and good understanding of Windows PC operations (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Candidates who have work experience in public authorities can demonstrate their expertise in their CV.
