On 15 January, at the official residence of Japanese Ambassador, Mr. Dominic Keogh and Ms. Mary Honohan, Directors of the IJCC Board, kindly explained the latest activities of the IJCC, which aims to develop the trade and investment relations between Ireland and Japan.
Following an initial briefing to Japanese Ambassador MIYAGAWA Manabu and the staff of the Embassy of Japan, both sides exchanged their views on possible ways to further develop economic relations between Ireland and Japan towards the 70th anniversary to commemorate the establishment of the diplomatic relations between both countries. Both sides compared initial ideas such as St Patrick's Day in March, a planned application this year for a logo for the 70th anniversary, and exchanges between Irish and Japanese municipalities and local chambers of commerce, among others. The Embassy of Japan looks forward to continued discussion and cooperation with the IJCC.
