Both sides exchanged their views on cultural exchange between Ireland and Japan, the increasing significance of soft power diplomacy in a changing international situation, amongst other topics . The Ambassador and Ms NAKATA Keiko, First Secretary of the Embassy, were honoured and much enlightened by the account of the Executive Director on his first visit to Ireland.
The Embassy of Japan looks forward to further exchanges between the Tokyo National Museum and various Irish cultural institutions, including the upcoming special event co-hosted by the Tokyo National Museum and the Chester Beatty from April to July in cooperation with the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport of Ireland, sponsored by the Japan Arts Council. We will cooperate whenever possible to promote such exchanges.
