Ireland and Japan as Strategic Economic Partners

On 12 February, Ambassador MIYAGAWA Manabu paid a courtesy call on Mr Declan Hughes, Secretary General, Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment. Both sides reaffirmed the strategic importance of strengthening economic and investment ties between Ireland and Japan, including in the areas of digital and start-ups.
The Embassy of Japan looks forward to further cooperation with the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, toward the upcoming EU Presidency of Ireland in the second half of 2026 and celebration of the 70th anniversary of the opening of bilateral relations in 2027.
