On 13 February, Ambassador MIYAGAWA Manabu and his wife Noriko paid a courtesy call on Mr Seán Canney TD, Minister of State at the Department of Transport, and his wife Mrs Geraldine Canney at the Minister’s constituency office in Tuam, Co. Galway.
Minister Canney will visit Japan around St Patrick's Day this year. The Ambassador expressed high expectations for the Minister's visit, while listening carefully to the specific interests of Minister Canney as well as the priorities for the Department of Transport. Both sides exchanged views on both existing and future bilateral cooperation in the transport sector between Ireland and Japan from various angles.
The Embassy of Japan reiterates its sincere gratitude for the opportunity and is looking forward to building on existing cooperation between now and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2027 and beyond.
