On 18 February, Ambassador MIYAGAWA Manabu paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Rossa Mulcahy, Chief of Staff, Irish Defence Forces. After signing a book for visitors, the Ambassador expressed his desire to further enhance exchanges between the Irish Defence Forces and Japanese Self-Defense Forces in rapidly changing international security situations.
Both sides compared notes on international and regional security situations and the respective activities of their countries’ defence forces, including cooperation with the United Nations.
The Embassy of Japan will continue to work with the Irish Defence Forces for further collaboration between Ireland and Japan.
