On 30 March, Ambassador MIYAGAWA Manabu and his wife Noriko invited those who completed their time on the JET Programme in 2025 to attend a reception at their residence, along with a number of friends of the Embassy who have supported the JET Programme in recent years.

The reception started with speeches by the Ambassador, one of the latest JET returnees, the President of the JET Alumni Association (JETAA), and a business representative from the Ireland Japan Chamber of Commerce (IJCC), moderated by Mr Richard Neville, JET Programme Coordinator at the Embassy. Then, the guests had the chance to reminisce about their experiences on the JET Programme while enjoying Japanese treats and refreshments.

We were very fortunate to hear from Ms Róisín Neville, from the Asia Pacific Division at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ms Hannah Kimiko Maharry from JETAA Ireland, and Mr Dominic Keogh from the IJCC about the many opportunities that are available to former JET participants in Ireland. We were also joined by friends and colleagues from the Ireland Japan Association, Post-Primary Languages Ireland, the Japan Business Council, Trinity College Dublin, and UCD Japan.

We would like to wish all of this year’s returning JETs the very best of luck as they take their next steps, and we hope that they will carry many treasured experiences from the JET Programme with them in the future.
