On 20 March, Ambassador MIYAGAWA Manabu to Ireland, who was on a business trip to Tokyo, paid a call on Ms HORAN Chiaki, whose father is from Ireland. Ms HORAN Chiaki has recently introduced Ireland to a Japanese audience through her Vlog. The Ambassador spoke with Ms HORAN about the state of preparations for the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Ireland in 2027, asking if she could help to make the 70th anniversary a success.

Earlier on the same day, prior to this meeting, Ambassador MIYAGAWA met H.E. Mr Damien Cole, Ambassador of Ireland to Japan, exchanging views on various bilateral issues, including some ideas to ensure the success of the 70th anniversary.

The Embassy of Japan in Ireland intends to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders in both Japan and Ireland to ensure that the 70th anniversary in 2027 can lead to further development of ties between the two countries.
