Courtesy call on An Cathaoirleach, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council

On 7 April, Ambassador MIYAGAWA Manabu and Mr HIROHATA Koji, Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission, paid a courtesy call on An Cathaoirleach, Cllr Jim Gildea at Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Hall.

Ambassador reiterated his gratitude to An Cathaoirleach for his attendance at the reception to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan in February at the Ambassador's residence, which is located in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. During the following exchange of views, both sides discussed topics including exchanges between Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown and Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, which was the pre-tournament training camp site for the Irish soccer team ahead of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, and Japan-Ireland economic relations, including the Sandyford Business Innovation District.

The Embassy of Japan in Ireland intends to continue to maintain and further develop exchanges with An Cathaoirleach and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.
