On 10 May, Ambassador MIYAGAWA Manabu welcomed the Irish Go Association to his official residence for the first ‘Embassy of Japan in Ireland Go Tournament.’

The Ambassador greeted players and expressed his wish that the game of Go, which has been played in Japan for over a millennium, become ever more popular in Ireland, and that the Irish Go Association continue to hold tournaments and workshops for new players, especially leading up to and during the 70th anniversary of Japan-Ireland diplomatic relations in 2027.

The tournament was won by the amazing Mr Larion Syrotkin, current U12 European Go champion! Omedetou gozaimasu! Congratulations! 🏆
