On 14 May, the Irish Times featured an article on the residence of the Japanese Ambassador. The article was written by Ms Alison Healy and the pictures were taken by Mr Nick Bradshaw. The house was built in 1998 and contains both Irish and Japanese elements, including a Japanese garden, a Japanese tearoom, tables and chairs designed by an Irish designer from Cork, and floors and pillars made of stone from Wicklow.

The Embassy of Japan is grateful to the Irish people and government for their hospitality in accommodating us for many years, and also for thousands of visits made by Irish and Japanese friends. We hope that the house will remain a venue for further exchanges between Ireland and Japan through this year and beyond 2027, the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
