On 29 May, Mr Pat Whelan, CEO of James Whelan Butchers, and Mr Darran Walsh, Head of Operations of the company, kindly visited the Embassy of Japan in Ireland.
Mr Whelan is scheduled to revisit Japan this summer and plans to meet with various organisations and individuals involved in food culture and education during his stay in order to promote education on food culture, including meat products, as well as academic exchanges which would further deepen the ties between Japan and Ireland.
Ambassador Miyagawa, First Secretary Ms Nakata, and Researcher Ms Onozaki provided Mr Whelan with information on Japan to help ensure that his visit would be fruitful, looking forward to opportunities for follow-up after his return to Ireland.
