Discussion on the Promotion of Sushi in Ireland

On 19 June, Ms HAYAKAWA Yoshimi, owner of WA SUSHI in Galway, and Mr YAMAZAKI Gentaro , Director and Certified Instructor of the All Japan Sushi Association Sushi Skills Institute, who was visiting from Japan, came to the Embassy of Japan in Ireland and met with Ambassador MIYAGAWA and Ms ONOZAKI, Researcher.
They held an initial exchange of views on the possibility of organising a Sushi Cup competition and sushi-related workshops in Ireland so that they could further promote sushi, which enjoys considerable popularity here.
Looking ahead to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Ireland in 2027, the Embassy will support initiatives to promote sushi whenever possible.
