On 24 June, Ambassador MIYAGAW Manabu met with Dr Richard Browne, Director of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), to exchange views on cooperation between Japan and Ireland in the field of cyber security. (Please also see our Facebook post from 21 April.)
Taking the opportunity, one week before Ireland assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and bearing in mind the importance of cooperation in the field of security, including cybersecurity, which was reaffirmed by the leaders of Japan and Ireland at the Japan–Ireland Summit Meeting in July 2025 as well as cyber dialogues between Japan and the EU, Ambassador MIYAGAWA expressed his intention to continue engaging in dialogue with the NCSC and other relevant Irish stakeholders on future prospects for bilateral cooperation.
The Embassy of Japan in Ireland will continue to work closely with the NCSC to explore further opportunities for strengthening cooperation in the field of cyber security with Ireland, one of Japan’s most important like-minded partners.
