On 4 June, Ambassador MIYAGAWA Manabu and Dáithí Ó hAodha, from the Embassy of Japan, visited St Cronan’s Senior National School in Swords. Students greeted the members of the Embassy with perfect Japanese and guided them to meet with the Principal, Ms Loreto Desmond and other school staff members. More students then welcomed the Ambassador’s delegation with a wonderful performance of the Japanese national anthem.
Ambassador MIYAGAWA and Dáithí then observed Japanese lessons, taught by Dr Jane O’Toole and Mr Kyle McGarrigle to their respective classes, and then answered questions from the incredibly enthusiastic students about their work and Japan-Ireland relations. They also told the delegation from the Embassy all about their favourite anime and foods!
