On 9 July, Ambassador MIYAGAWA Manabu had the honour to meet once again with Ceann Comhairle Ms Verona Murphy TD (see the Embassy's website article dated 29 March) and exchanged views on Ireland's key priorities for its Presidency of the Council of the European Union, as well as on the increasing various exchanges between Japan and Ireland.

The Ambassador referred to his visit to Gorey Community School in County Wexford during its exchange programme with Seisa High School from Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan in May (see the Embassy's Facebook post from 26 May), as well as exchanges with the Ireland-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group (see the Embassy's website article of 16 June). He expressed his hope that Japan and Ireland would continue to deepen bilateral ties, including youth exchanges, people-to-people links, economic and scientific relations.

The Embassy of Japan in Ireland is grateful for the opportunity for this discussion and remains committed to making every effort, including through engagement with Dáil Éireann, to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Japan and Ireland.
