On 6 July, Ambassador MIYAGAWA Manabu and Ms NAKATA Keiko, First Secretary at the Embassy of Japan in Ireland, met with Mr Steve Tormey, Chief Executive of Toyota Ireland, Mr Edward Garavan, Managing Director, and Mr John Keane, Operations Director, to exchange views on Japan–Ireland economic relations and Ireland's forthcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union, among other topics.
The Embassy of Japan in Ireland will continue to engage in dialogue with Toyota Ireland and provide whatever support it can to help ensure that the company's continued growth further strengthens the economic relationship between Japan and Ireland.
