4月9日、ダブリン市内のライト・ハウス・シネマにて日本映画祭2026のオープニングイベントが行われ、「ふつうの子ども」の上映前、宮川学大使が祝辞を述べました。映画祭で上映される映画と上映場所は、以下のリンクを御覧ください。

Good evening, everyone. What a wonderful launch for Japanese Film Festival 2026! My special thanks go to our co-hosts, “Access Cinema”, and all our collaborators including enthusiastic film lovers and sponsors, who have made it happen this year again. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to “Light House Cinema” for hosting us and the Japanese Film Festival for so many years now.
Cinema or scannánaíocht can often open a door for us to a new world. Sometimes, cinema can even teach us history and culture in the most impressive and unforgettable manner.
My wife and I have waited for tonight to see “How Dare You” ふつうの子ども. Like many of you, we are most likely to come back for more movies from tomorrow to the end of April, given such an excellent selection of 17 films to be screened, covering classics, anime, many recent films and even a documentary based on the diaries of the film director Mr. OZU Yasujiro.
Next year Ireland and Japan will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Soon, we will open applications for an Irish and Japanese joint logo for the 70th anniversary. All of you, your families and friends would be most welcome to create and submit your own logo. I am sure that we can celebrate the anniversary together at the Japanese Film Festival 2027.
