6月17日、ダブリン市中心部において、NTTデータの新社屋開所式が開催されました。NTTデータはアイルランドにおいて20年余、IT分野を中心にビジネスを拡大してきており、現在は300名余の雇用を創出しています。
開所式には、ピーター・バーク企業・観光・雇用大臣が参加し、デイビッド・ティレルNTT データ・アイルランド社長始め、社員の方々に祝意を表明しました。在アイルランド日本国大使館からは、宮川学大使及び中田啓子一等書記官が参加し、祝意を伝達するとともに、日本とアイルランド、欧州の架け橋として、同社がますます発展するよう祈念申し上げました。

Mr. David Tyrrell, distinguished guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is my great honour and pleasure to join you this afternoon to celebrate the inauguration of the new office of NTT Data in Ireland in the heart of Dublin.
First of all, I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to the members of the company, and I’d also like to pay tribute to the company’s record in Ireland for more than 20 years, with more than 300 people employed. You are a bridge between Japan and Ireland.
I am deeply honoured to join Minister Burke, who visited Japan last year and has always paid close attention to the development of the relations between Ireland and Japan.
As Minister Burke also indicated, NTT Data in Ireland is global in its nature, and it is also deeply rooted in Ireland and Europe. These combined characteristics of the company, together with its evolving business philosophy, mean that further success of the company would deepen the global partnership between Japan and Ireland. We are like-minded countries, staunch guardians of the rules-based international community, and indispensable strategic partners to strengthen together resilient supply chains and economic security, through business and cooperation on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and possibly outer space amongst other areas.
Ladies and Gentlemen, in two weeks’ time, Ireland will assume the EU Presidency. Next year Japan and Ireland will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations. I am sure that NTT Data in Ireland will keep expanding its business and thus create new opportunities for Ireland, Japan, the EU and the rest of the world.
I wish the company every success for many, many, many years to come.
